Given the last few years many of us have been struggling with stress, anxiety, or feelings of uncertainty. From dealing with a pandemic, job and economic unpredictability, not to mention the rising cost of living which can take its toll. Here at 1907 water, we believe that mental health is just as important as our emphasis on physical health and hydration because life is all about finding balance. Taking care of your mental health is a journey, not a destination, and taking steps every day to improve your overall wellbeing is essential.

Here are some tips for improving your mental health: 

Practice self-care:

Self-care means taking care of your physical, emotional, and mental needs. This can include getting adequate sleep each night, drinking enough of a high-quality water, taking a long bath, perhaps a walk in nature or engaging in activities that you enjoy.

Connecting with others:

Social support is crucial for good mental health. Making time to connect with friends, family, and other people in your life who care about you. Volunteering to help the environment or local community groups can help provide a sense of purpose and meaning.

Practice mindfulness:

Mindfulness is the practice of being present in the moment and paying attention to your thoughts, feelings, and surroundings without judgment. Mindfulness can help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression and improve overall well-being. Journalling and mediation is a great way to achieve this.

Set realistic goals:

Setting goals can give you a sense of direction, but it's important to set realistic goals that are achievable. Breaking down larger goals into smaller, more manageable steps will seem less overwhelming. Don't forget to celebrate your progress along the way,  and take away any pressure or guilt around not meeting expectations.

Seek professional help:

If you're struggling with mental health issues, it's important to seek professional help. A mental health professional can provide support, guidance, and treatment options that can help improve your mental health. There is so much stigma around seeking help but it's really important to reach out if you need it. 

     

    During difficult times, it's especially important to take care of ourselves and prioritize our mental health. Even if we only have a few minutes to spare each day. As we mentioned journaling is a great way to cultivate a sense of gratitude and improve our overall well-being. Writing down our thoughts and feelings can help us process our emotions and gain perspective on our lives. Journalling can also help us set intentions, track our progress, and identify areas for growth. When we practice gratitude, we intentionally focus on the things we are thankful for, big or small. This can be as simple as appreciating a beautiful sunset or a delicious meal, or as profound as being grateful for our health, our loved ones, or our job. Gratitude is a powerful tool that can help us shift our focus from the negative aspects of our lives to the positive ones.
